Mary,
You're doing the right thing and yes, it is expensive. I can't afford organic. When my tomato plants die in the fall, that's it. Same with the peppers, et al. I freeze peppers and zucchini, but I am too feeble to can tomatoes and don't have room anyway in our tiny house. I'm ever on the lookout for ways to feel better that don't cost much money. The D3 is cheap and we need much more than originally thought. I take 5000 to 10000 IU a day myself. I think creating a good PH balance in the body is also important. At Dr. Mercola's site I found his recommendations for PH balance. It's also cheap: baking soda! Most pharmacies have urine test strips you can buy to test your PH balance. Then follow Dr. Mercola's recommendations. I'll be writing on this later. People like us have a systemic imbalance and since each person is different, so the remedies will be different, but we have directions we can test. I just read more about enzymes and will blog on that, too. So far, the enzymes are the most expensive supplement. Even the iodine comes in at $65/3 months for 50mg a day, which is not too bad, but more than I'd like to pay. However, since they make life manageable, I just give up other things.

Barb,
I have been taking extra Vitamin D along with a good multi, omegas, green superfood drinks, calcium-magnesium, enzymes for inflammation. I just wish supplements weren't so expensive, they help to a degree but they cost too much to keep up with. I buy many organic foods, too. Our grocery bill is outrageous:) If you have any other recommendations please let me know. Thanks for blogging! Do you have a followers list? I couldn't find one and thought maybe you had decided not to add this feature. God bless you! I'm working my way through your posts and enjoying them very much. It is hard at the beginning to get a blog known but once word gets around it gets a little easier :)
