"Virtue of religion" - We have lost a valuable Catholic vocabulary post-Vatican II, and with that loss has come misunderstanding of our Faith and an inability to pass it on in its entirety. God bless Pope Benedict for reviving the verbal expressions of our Faith along with our sacred liturgy. Words really do matter.

"Virtue of religion." Unfortunately, to many people that will seem an impossibility. I've even known many Christians to look down on the very word "religion." They'll say things like "You've just tried relgion. What you need is Jesus," whereas in fact the two are not mutually exclusive! We speak of loving, worshipping, and serving the Lord when talking about religion!

That short prayer is excellent. Thanks for this beautiful and thoughtful reflection.
