It’s been quite a week with the Pope renouncing the papacy, all the speculation, and the beginning of Lent.  I wrote The Benedictine Surprise, Looking at Lent, and Sabbath Moments where I wrote a bit about mortification.

  1. As the rabbit said to Alice, when you get to the end, stop. I need to learn that lesson. Sometimes I get to the end of what I need to say . . . and keep saying more, when I should just be silent and let the Holy Spirit make His point.
