About
Barbara A. Schoeneberger, M.A. has been an organization development consultant working with small businesses and Fortune 500 companies over the years. She has developed numerous sales and management training programs and conducted basic supervisory training for many years. Also a former parish choir director, she has in-depth experience in sacred music and liturgy.
In 1993 Barb and her husband moved to southern Missouri to open a portrait photography studio and Barb became a Certified Professional Photographer. In 1999, the couple closed the studio due to her husband’s disability from a rare condition. A few years later, Barb herself became disabled, diagnosed with a constellation of conditions related to neuro-muscular issues, including fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. In 2008 she was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of both hips and had 3 hip surgeries within 8 months. Her experience as a caregiver to her husband as well as her personal journey through chronic pain has been a valuable learning experience. How she has coped and obtained peace of mind is due to understanding the purpose of her suffering. She hopes to help others to make the most of the challenges God has sent them.
Since the late 1980s Barb has written, edited, and published monthly newsletters for select groups. She also authored two business related books. In addition to writing, Barb’s interests lie in the traditional sacred liturgy and practices of the Catholic Church and in creating beautiful art from photographs she and her husband have taken.
About this site’s design: Barb chose copyright-free photos from NASA’s great web site Astronomy Picture of the Day as background. The green star scape is titled “Grand Galaxy” and is copyrighted by European Southern Observatory, used under the conditions stated in their notice.
Considering that this blog is designed to bring people closer to God, having the heavens as a backdrop seemed most appropriate. Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas and each person’s mother, whose image graces this blog, is the icon of pro-life Catholics. This site is dedicated to her and to Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who gave her life to those discarded by society and dying of neglect.
